Winter Palace Hermitage

Winter Palace Hermitage, St. Petersburg

The Hermitage is not only part of the St. Petersburg historic city center, which has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but is also one of the world’s largest and most important art museums. One of the several buildings that make up the Hermitage complex is the famous Winter Palace, which once served as the winter residence for Russian czars.

The Hermitage contains 350 exhibition rooms in which 65,000 exhibits are displayed. In all, the archive is home to an impressive 2.7 million exhibition pieces and archaeological artifacts from Russia as well as Central and Western Europe, including antique artworks and prehistoric objects. To help keep the exhibits in top condition, Condair steam humidifiers are used to ensure optimal air humidity levels.
